Notes from Dom AKA Slow Lane
2019 Pinot Gris from Birdwood, in the Adelaide Hills, repassed over 2022 McLaren Vale Shiraz skins. The Pinot Gris from Birdwood had 3 months on skins, a year in barrel & almost 2 years in bottle, but it wasn't quite where we wanted it. We repassed it over some aromatic Shiraz skins (after a carbonic ferment) from the vineyard that surrounds our shed. The Gris was reborn. A little bit of McLaren Vale pepper & grip, with skinsy Gris orange peel underneath.
