Vigna Trecci 2019 Toscana IGT
A blend of Prugnolo Gentile, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, Colorino, Trebbiano and Malvasia.
Firstly, this is Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in all but name - as in many parts of Europe, Andrea prefers to eschew bureaucracy. The aromas are seductive with lifted sweet cherry and ripe raspberry at its core, alongside sweet, tilled earth. The very pretty primary fruit is framed by light spice, tobacco and faded rose. It's medium bodied, drinking superbly now, and has long length and persistence on the finish. This was a great discovery on my trip to Italy last year shows an elegant approach to Tuscany in a traditional style that is focused on pure aromas and silky tannins. Lovely!
