Domaine La Mutine is based in Island in the Vézelay area of northern Burgundy, a quieter and more raw corner of the region, far from the polished image of the Côte d’Or. Chardonnay from Saint-Véran in southern Burgundy, grown in a beautiful clay limestone amphitheatre. Gently direct pressed, racked after one day, then aged on lees until the following March. The warmth of the Mâconnais is expressed with precision, offering more volume and structure than Vézelay, yet with sharp minerality, vibrant freshness and no excess roundness.
