La Mutine 2023 Bourgogne Rouge

Domaine La Mutine is based in Island in the Vézelay area of northern Burgundy, a quieter and more raw corner of the region, far from the polished image of the Côte d’Or. Pinot Noir from Irancy, grown on Kimmeridgian marl with Exogyra virgula fossils and clay limestone topsoils. Harvested in September, it macerates as whole clusters for twelve days with gentle sous tirage and no pigeage, before pressing. Aged nine months in steel and over a year in bottle. Light in colour, with crunchy red fruit, refined tannins and bright, elegant structure.
