Organically grown old vine Cinsault, Grenache & Mourvèdre from Jeff Traeger’s impeccably farmed property in Vine Vale, on the eastern side of the Barossa at the foothill of Menglers Hill. These 90 year old vines are deeply rooted in sandy soils over clay, benefiting from the diurnal temperature shifts that help preserve natural acidity. Hand-picked, these grapes were whole bunch pressed slowly in our screw press, allowing gentle phenolic extraction from the skins. The juice was then transferred into seasoned French barriques for fermentation & eight months of élevage. Bottled on site at our Basket Range winery.
