Jean Bouteille 2025 Bâtard Trousseau
Notes from JB:
A small block of Trousseau planted with cuttings from 150-year-old bush mother vines, on the certified organic Small Fry Vineyard, grown by Wayne Ahrens and Suze Hilder. Hand-picked. Whole-bunch carbonic for seven days, then ten days semi-carbonic with a gentle punch-down once a day. Pressed to seasoned French barriques and aged ten months on fine lees. Medium-bodied and aromatic red wine. Dry petals on the nose, with goji berry and cherry fruit. A lovely finish with an amaro-like mouthfeel.
