Frédéric Cossard 2023 Bedeau

In natural wine, Fred Cossard is a very important figure.
He produces exquisite, vibrant Burgundies in both colours from his base in Saint Romain. A jovial man with a strong intellect and a super fine palate, he is a master at producing wine with very minimal intervention. This is from a number of plots of old vines in and around Volnay, this is deeper, darker and more fruit driven that it's predecessor. As with the Bigotes above, I think of this wine whenever I crave a cool, refreshing glass of red Burgundy; this has energy, style, perfume and poise. It's satisfying and stimulating all at once.
