Foradori 2024 Fuoripista Pinot Grigio
All notes from Foradori’s deep thinker Theo Zierock.
Like in 2022 this Pinot Grigio wants to be something he is not: a serious man. The color is one of the most beautifully balanced shades of oranges and roses that we have had. A liquid sundown on the rusty mediterranean sea. So, mister Fuoripista believes he has arrived at his peak this year; mistake. The higher you fly, the harder you fall. Acidity is decent, but not quite enough. The tannins are denser (less than 2022, but compact), alcohol is higher in perception (this asshole wants to be a big guy, huh?!) which makes him fall a bit flat on the face. The sip is long on the finish (machismo again!), but lacks true originality. We all want a beautifully looking Adonis when we drink the Fuoripista. We want him to be fun, tropical and sensual; we want to dance to him. But the 2024 wants to be a grown up, he wants to discuss. (Ok, a bit too much. The wine is good, don't worry. Hints of carrot salad dressed with salt, lemon juice and awesome olive oil.)
