Domaine du Cabanon 2022 Poudre d'Escampette

Alain Castex is widely considered the uncompromising and meticulous 'Godfather' of natural winemaking in French Catalunya, having mentored so many now terrific vignerons in his time.
From a parcel of what were Alain’s only remaining vines, one hectare in the commune of Trouillas. A blended cuvée: 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Carignan and 30% Grenache Noir. Century-old vines grown on clay soils, with low yields. Both the farming of the vines and the vinification are natural. Made without sulphur, fermented by semi-carbonic maceration, with a short maturation in old barrels. Wine neither filtered nor fined, zero added sulfites.
