Dérive 2024 Tintookie Chenin Blanc

Notes from the makers.
Grown by Lulu Lunn (our neighbour) using organic principles (not certified) on her Tintookie vineyard located in the rolling foothills of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. Vintage 2024 saw a return to warmer and sunnier conditions compared to the three prior La Niña vintages, however unseasonal rains in December/January saw berry & bunch sizes increase across many varieties. Foot-stomped and whole-bunch pressed to tank, where the juice was allowed to oxidise and settle before being racked to barrel for spontaneous fermentation. After completing primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation in barrel, the wine was left on its gross lees for 10 months without stirring before being racked prior to bottling, at which time a small addition of sulphur was made. Sealed with DIAM cork and wax dipped.
