Basket Range Wine 2024 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Notes from Sholto Broderick of Basket Range Wines:
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Merlot (10%) and Petit Verdot (10%). These varieties were the first planted by my father in 1980 in our original vineyard and subsequently planted in our new adjacent vineyard in the early 2000s. It was the first blend under the Basket Range Wine label. Growing these varieties and making the wines, I can see their suitability to the north-facing plantings where the afternoon sun allows for fruit with maturity of ripeness with the elegance of the Adelaide Hills. In the cooler year of 2023, the picking of these varieties was later than usual, giving a more delicate framework with fruit ripeness.
