2023 Fiano & Amigos
It's a blend of Fiano 51%, with a large percentage of Pecorino 30% and Pinot Gris 19%.
The Fiano is the backbone of the wine, giving it tons of stone fruit and nectarines, the Pecorino adds a lovely line of acid and citrus notes, and the Pinot Gris adds a bit of texture and ties the whole thing together. The Fiano is coming out of Ricca Terra Farms in the Riverland, and both the Pecorino and Pinot Gris coming out of the Adelaide Hills. About 48 hours of skin contact on the Fiano just to enhance texture, and all the varieties were fermented separately before putting this blend together. The Fiano and Pecorino just belonged together, like two luchadores hugging in the air. Tons of interest and incredibly high drinkability.
