2022 Syrah

Amazing wines from the Northern Rhône.
Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet was created by Hervé Souhaut in 1993. It is located in Arlebosc, Northern Ardeche, just opposite Hermitage, in Saint Joseph. Unlike the traditional wines of Northern Rhône, Souhaut aims to make wines that can be drunk young but also age, focusing on extraction and producing a balanced tannin. He is a strict organic viticulturist and works with vines ranging from 50-100 years old. His Vin de Pays ‘Syrah’ is hand harvested, and like all his wine is fermented as whole bunch. Long maceration for this wine, then aged on fine lees in french barriques for at least six months. A wine that’s pretty and full of finesse. Dark black cherries, plums and soft tobacco complemented by a delicate tannin.
