2021 Brézème Blanc
Éric Texier was a nuclear engineer before making wine!
Based in the virtually forgotten area of Brézème, Northern Rhone, Éric makes special wines with a minimalist outlook. He views soil management within the vineyard as one of the most critical aspects as a vigneron. For whites he looks to direct press and use of concrete vats, whereas reds mostly undergo whole bunch fermentation.
This Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc is 100% Roussanne from Brézème. Like his other whites, this wine is created via whole cluster ferment and direct press, then aged on lees in concrete. Gentle oxy action with this one, caramelised apples topped with cinnamon. Fine wine.
