Daniele Piccinin started not as a winemaker but as a restaurateur.
It was during this time that he tasted a wine made by Angiolino Maule (president of VinNatur) that so impressed him that he eventually became his pupil. Daniele now cultivates seven hectares of vines in San Giovanni Ilarione, in the province of Verona. Whole bunch pressed in steel, except a 10% of the wine which goes in oak. Lees contact for a few months. Refermented in bottle, the wine sits on its fine lees for an extra 24 months. No dosage. An elegant style of Durella, full bodied and rich, but with great freshness.
