2020 Calligramme

Dry style...
We don't get this wine every vintage as it is made in painfully small quantities. Here is Eric's homage to his centenarian Chenin vines sparsely planted around the appellation; this is a labour of love. As a wine it is exquisite, it has a serenity that all grand wines share, the myriad aromas evolve gently: honeysuckle, linden, exotic fruits, faint peppermint and toasted brioche. On the palate, the concentration and balance is beautifully done and the finish is tempered by a mouthwatering acid tension, fine saline bitters linger on. Mesmerising and will age effortlessly way beyond the point when most fine Burgundies have started to tire. The Nicolas family like to drink Calligramme at 10 years old
