Enrico Ciroi is the mastermind behind Controcorrente. Daniele Piccinin wines provide the base, which are blended with only a handful of carefully chosen botanicals that Enrico believes complements the wine. Less sugar than usual is used so they are perfect as a base spirit or solo. The Rosso is a Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara base steeped with thyme, helichrysum and rhubarb. Bitterness heavy and earthy spices galore. Lovely in a spritz, negroni or by itself on the rocks with whatever garnish you desire. Aperitivo or digestivo ready. A vermouth that can do both.
