Ebenezer, Ashton and Mount Compass DOCGs. Aged in large format oak, and some time in tank to keep things Swiss-Italian. Merlot is back like il diavolo Berlusconi and makes things più morbido, più rotonda, più sontuosa, while some left-leaning Adelaide Hills Barbera keeps it interesting. An enthusiastic, vibrant and devoutly Catholic red wine for drinking with il diavolo and pepperoni pizza (Dominos probably) in bed. Cherries, plums, cigar box spice and dry tannin.
