NV Les Maisons Brûlées Altérité 4/5
Les Maisons Brûlées translates to ‘The Burned Houses’. Some of the vineyards are planted over a section of a village that mysteriously burnt down 100’s of years ago, and you can still find stones from the buildings in amongst the vines! Paul and Corinne Gillet took over the Domaine from previous owners, Michel & Béatrice Augé in 2013. Michel was one of the pioneers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the area and so the Gillets continue to work this way. This is a pet-nat made from Cabernet-Sauvignon. This is 2014, with 20% 2015 fruit. Quite dark in colour, this is dry, powerful and complex. Very moreish. Very limited.
