Notes from Aaron and the Wood and Co. team.
Gachatha, a small cooperative with only one wet mill, also located in Nyeri, with roughly 1000 smallholder farmers contributing coffee fruit to the washing station. Each producer has an average of 150 coffee trees each, growing SL28 and SL34 cultivars. These cultivars have been developed for Kenyan farms and give the distinct bright flavours we associate with kenyan coffees. Expect notes of Pink Grapefruit, Red Currant and Toffee. This particular lot of GACHATHA is stupidly delicious and is up there as one of the favourite coffees we have tasted on our cupping table!
