2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes
Éric Texier was a nuclear engineer before making wine!
Based in the virtually forgotten area of Brézème, Northern Rhone, Éric makes special wines with a minimalist outlook. He views soil management within the vineyard as one of the most critical aspects as a vigneron. For whites he looks to direct press and use of concrete vats, whereas reds mostly undergo whole bunch fermentation. North eastern Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache, from 80+ year old vines. Whole-cluster fermented and aged in barrels on fine less for 18 months. Amazingly fresh, balanced and littered with spice. Next level grenache.
