2021 Someone Great
Old Vine Blewitt Springs Grenache, extended maceration.
Notes from the maker - Louis - The goal was to make something ethereally light bodied but with profound depth, tannin, and intense freshness. In the vein of Pfifferling, Leroy, rather than powerful Vale red. That juxtaposition of explosive perfume and structure in an incredibly light frame. Layers. Taking it to the extreme. This requires decanting, not just for the wack of natural sediment, but because it is a very tightly wound wine that will take years to show its technicolor spectrum of fruit. It’s austere, uncompromising and demanding but the reward is there for the dedicated drinker.
