2021 Temps de Chien
Romauld is one of the most underrated and understated winemakers in the natural wine world.
While Romuald’s winemaking may be simple, the resulting wines are superb. The work is more done in the vineyard. He refuses to spray copper and sulphur on the vines. When he does have to treat the vines he does so with his own creations of wild plant, spring water, whey and clay mixes. Last year was a pretty rough year in Beaujolais weather wise, but on the positive side this cuvee was born from it. A blend of all the Gamay and Chardonnay that was able to be harvested from the surrounding 100 year old vines, as well as a parcel that usually makes up Romuald’s Beaujolais Village. Light, ethereal and absolutely delicious.
