2021 Konpira Maru Mt Midoriyama Classic Edition

We call this our party pet nat, which is kind of lame, but kind of accurate. Grown down the mountain from home base in the Whitlands by the great man Richard Carson. He's a lovely guy, offers up a mean quiche and absolutely hates crows. If the King Valley was the hull of a ship then the Dolcetto and Chardonnay blocks would sit right on the starboard bow. From the top if you look really closely you can just make out the edge of the vineyards in Whitlands, sitting 300m above and to the south. The origins of the wine are disputed, Sam believes it was his idea, but I know for a fact it wasn't. But what an inspired blend it is. Dolcetto is a real fruit forward pleasure machine and combined with a bit of racy Chardonnay and a touch of Gewürztraminer, gee whiz it makes for an electrifying blend.
