Syrah with slinky restraint. Dancing with red, black fruits, crushed rose, lavender and a melange of spice. Un-Australian. From the really exciting black basalt soils in Kangaroo Ground. Syrah was picked in early April - a blend of two blocks. One more red fruited and the other darker and more powerful. De-stemmed half immediately and the other half after a week. No whole berries wild ferment for about two weeks before being pressed off and gravity filled into all old barrels. Gentle plunging just to keep the cap wet. Malo in barrels.
