Notes from the winemakers...
Organic fruit sourced from Rice’s Vineyard in Stawell. Fermented on skins (wild ferment) for 2 weeks until almost dry, basket pressed early into a neutral barrel to finish the very end of the ferment to retain the pretty lifted perfumed nose. The wine was allowed to settle and bottled directly off lees. Only 220L made. The wine is deep blood red in colour; super pretty carbonic-like perfumed nose of raspberries, strawberries, dark red rose and aniseed; the palate is dry, and has more dark broody fruit - blackberry, black currant, plum, with a lick of aniseed and vanilla. The wine has med+ tannins. Great with red meat, mushrooms, pizza/pasta. Perfect for cozy nights or big BBQs.
