2020 Les Fruits Rudy

3 barrels of prime Chardonnay sourced from 30+ year old vines deep in the Piccadilly Valley. Direct pressed and fermented half way in tank before being run to well season French hogsheads. Left on lees and racked just before the new vintage. Rested in tank for a month before bottling with minimal sulphites. Soft on the eye - pale straw with tarnished white gold highlights. It’s a fairly relaxed affair, don’t expect sulphides and artifact. You might find instead some Meyer lemon, old pear and heirloom yellow peach, white spice, nut meal, milk powder with a faint minerality. Super relaxed palate with rich nectar like texture balanced by a nice minerality and gentle acidity. Flavours are gentle but concentrated with sweet peach, lemonade and crème patisserie. Gentle, soft and pure – like a cuddle from Nan.
