2020 LattaVINO Bad Reputation
Notes from Owen Latta...
Hard to believe we’ve been producing pyrenees Viognier for five consecutive years straight… It grows so well in the pyrenees. Quite a few plantings went in during the mid 90s and very early 2000s when it seemed to be on a somewhat trend for a short time with Yalumba pushing the envelope in SA. 2020 is the best release yet. This wine is made up from two vineyards both Pyrenees. One in Moonambel (Dalwhinnie) and the other in Lamplough (Quartz Hill). Both vineyards share some similarities in their soil, quartz being the link. Vinification and élevage is seperate until racking. This is also the last time we will get fruit from David Jones (Dalwhinnie) as he sold the vineyard.
