2020 Koerner Cannonau Grenache

Very old, Clare Valley fruit...
Planted in Watervale in 1935 not he classic Terra Rossa; red clay on limestone. 50% whole berry ferment, no whole bunch, in open top steel fermenters, hand plunged twice daily for 2 weeks. Then the free run and pressings were combined and settled off gross lees for 7 days. Aged in 2000L Slavonian oak foudre for 9 months then racked to steel for 3 months. Bright, spicy with graphite like structure.
