2020 Haure
Jean-Baptiste Semmartin was a professional fencer for 10 years before he became a vigneron.
Jean-Baptiste Semmartin aka Domaine Lajibe has made wine in Bordeaux, Collioure and Burgundy, where he was under the wing of Emmanuel Giboulot. Being a leader in Biodynamic viticulture, Giboulout provided the inspiration for Semmartin’s wines we see today. Domaine Lajibe is at the foot of the Pyrenees and home to varietals such as Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and Petit Courbu. Haure is one of the few dry wines Semmartin makes. Like the Cameret, it is a blend of biodynamic Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Petit Courbu and Claverie except the vine-age almost reaching 100 year old. Compelling and layered, full of herbs and nuttiness. Classic Jurançon acid coupled with insane freshness.
