2020 Harkham Aziza's Chardonnay

The 2020 vintage will be memorable for us all and mostly for bushfires and Covid19 - In the Hunter Valley where this wine comes from, the smoke taint problem was acute with Tyrrells, the pre eminent winery of the region, deciding not to produce any wine - big call.
Richie got this fruit from an organic certified vineyard in Orange, so it's the first Aziza's Chardonnay not from the Hunter Valley. A beauty from this difficult vintage - It's bright, fresh, zesty and deeply mineral. It has contemplative depth and interest aromatically and in the mouth... Well it's quite simply wonderful; it's fluid, bright and chiseled perfectly. One of his best yet.
