2020 Frederick Stevenson Grenache

Low, low yields, small canopy and small berries. Around 30% whole bunches, 2-3 week ferments and pressed of to 500 litre neutral barrels. A touch reductive / recluse / shy on opening - gives way to aromas of cinnamon and clove spice. Dark plums and raspberries, orange peel and amaro scents. Chocolate raspberry bullets, Chinese 5 spice plum sauce, cling-stone fruit fibres, fine dry & dusty tannins coat the tongue - the wine closes with a breathe of amaro spices and dark cherry kind acid / fruit feel, with a bit of the old chocolate ruffle biscuit tannin.
