2021 Fleet Young Wines Pinot Gris

Mornington Peninsula.
This is referred to as ‘Young Wines’ rather than the Gippsland ‘White Label’ range. A portion is skin fermented, the whole lot hangs out on lees in barrels. A bit going on. Orange-pink colour. Slippery then gently puckering, juicy, pear drop, green herb, barely there mescal and grassiness, and faintly bitter in a pleasing way to finish. Light grip in palate, a touch of tonic water rises up in the flavour profile after a while, settles in nicely with some sweet fruitiness too. Lots going on, super easy and good drink.
