Ambergris, such a good name for an ‘orange’ wine done with pinot gris, even if it technically is a rose, as gris is a red grape.
But such a good name anyway. Reeks of pear and sour cherry. I like it. Edgy acidity dances through a slosh of pear-cherry flavours. Nice. Drinks well, has some musky funk to it, a little bite of tart acidity with a feel that you get from drinking good amaro or bitter liqueurs. Tannin rolls around the palate nicely too. Feels unkempt in a good way, like an errant bush. It’s wine though, so just drink it and go along for the ride. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
