2020 Blanc Fugitiu
100% Xarel·lo from the Serral vineyard (51 years old).
The grapes were de-stemmed by hand, and then ferment began in stainless steel tanks with the skins still present - 3 weeks gentle maceration without much extraction. Racked off the skins to another tank, and then after malo, racked to 500L barrels, where it aged for 3 months. Zero added sulfites. Almost orange in colour. Nose of apricot kernels, minerals and salinity. Apricot Danish. Quite textural and powerful, but with a straight line running through it. This is a serious gastronomic wine. Fresh, medium acidity, very clean, and slightly saline. Plenty of depth and power which has been harnessed perfectly. A restaurant wine, rather than a drinking wine. Very serious, and very high quality. Very cool. So much depth.
