2020 Bink Meisje Alicante Bouchet
Notes from big Koen - he makes the wines:
Meisje means little girl in Dutch, my son called the barrel this during vintage, hence the name. 100% Barossa Valley - Vine Vale. First crack at this variety. The berries are coloured inside. The colour is like deep ruby red, pretty cool. Picked on the same day as the Chenin Blanc. 100% de-stemmend and fermented dry on skins. Pressed to hogsheads. Fun, bright style of Alicante. Short nose of red berries, rhubarb and hay. Salivating acids and violets. If you give it a couple of minutes, it's a whole different beast.
