2020 Bandicoot Run Syrah
Exciting new wines out of Gippsland - notes from the makers:
We decided to drop all the fruit in our young block of Syrah in 2020 in order to give them an extra year to gather some strength, which means that this wine is made 100% from fruit from what we call our “old vines” (which are the grand old age of 15). Fully destemmed and co-fermented with 10% Viognier in a single open top fermenter, basket pressed 14 days later and left to rest in a single old barrel for 11 months. Picked nice and early the wine is showing plenty of those savoury characters we like in Syrah with the viognier giving it a nice lift.
