2019 Scintilla Les Petits Riens
Always great having the new Scintilla wines.
All wines are produced from vines grown and managed with organic and / or biodynamic principles. No additions whatsoever. All notes from James:
2019 was again another hot, dry year. The bush vines, planted in full sun, were hand harvested first into 10kg crates, de stemmed then left to macerate. The trellis vines took longer to ripen as they are lower down and partly shaded. 2 weeks later these were picked and whole bunch pressed. The same day the macerated fruit was pressed and added to tank with the freshly pressed juice to co ferment. About 2 weeks later once almost sugar dry it was racked of gross lees to an 8-year-old french oak hogshead. Left to rest and develop for the following 10 months. It was racked and bottled in January 2020.
