2019 Ruth Lewandowski Boaz Cuvée Zero

Carignan, cabernet sauvignon, grenache in this mix, and all off one Testa Vineyard in Mendocino County.
A dry farmed site, older vines (carignan 80 years, grenache 100 years). From Evan Lewandowski, a renaissance winemaker bringing colour and life plus high quality wine to the modern California wine conversation. Game meat, raspberry scents, sage leaf, mint, undergrowth notes. A pretty yet savoury profile greets us. Supple and succulent in the palate, a swish of dark fruits, brined black olive, exotic spice, rose hip tea, charry spice and dried leaf crackle to the finish. Moreish, wonderful stuff, a thing unto itself with charisma and drinkability in spades. Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
