2019 Primitive Sangiovese
Grown by Chalmers in Colbinabbin on the eastern slopes of the Mount Camel range with roots in the ancient red Cambrian soils.
The fruit was gently destemmed trying to retain as many whole berries as possible, then went through carbonic maceration for 7 days. It was pressed to old barriques where it rested for 18 months. Light, fresh and quite rustic / Italian looking - has those dusty tannins we love to see.
