2019 Made By Monks Syrah Semillon
Notes from Luke who makes the juice..:
A small batch of the Semillon was put aside to blend a light red made for the fridge. A parcel of Syrah (Shiraz) from Meadowbank vineyard in the Derwent valley makes up the other part of the blend. The Syrah fruit was hand picked, whole berry fermented, post ferment macerated for week and pressed to stainless steel tank. Wines were keep seperate before bending trials and put together for bottling without additions. 20% Syrah 80% Semillon. Peppery spice and lemon tang, oddly matched, best drinking chilled down listening to Prince records.
