Notes from Andrew Ainsworth:
Another of the area’s oldest vineyards also planted in 1982, this time in Romsey, just south of Lancefield. Red basalt soils, and not as much elevation as the other two vineyards so a little bit more warmth. Shows quite differently to the other two on the nose, with a more assertive fruit character, a kind of green tropical fruit is how I would describe it. The structure is typical of Josh’s wines with a wide textural richness, carried through by extraordinary acid. Another show stopper.
