2019 Jordy Kay Seymour Riesling
Notes from Jordy:
The Seymour vineyard we lease is 50 years old and sits at 150m above sea level on alluvium sand. The winters are cold and wet and the summers hot and dry, however, the temperatures are very cold at night even in summer due to the mountain range and river that horse shoes around the river. The Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon have been organic for 5 years now. The rest is on its third season of organic farming, which makes it technically organic but it’s nice to clarify for transparency.
This wine really captures what this site is all about for me. Despite a relatively low alcohol this wine has such intense flavours. I picked when the grapes tastes less citrus and more like stone fruits. Fermented at very cool temperatures and aged in stainless steel tank.
