2019 Fatalone Primitivo

I was walking around Fatalone’s vineyard in Gioia del Colle the day before the 2019 harvest, so I like to think a little extra charisma rubbed off on the grapes this year.
Blackberry, almond paste, dark chocolate and liquorice, floral too, along with a dusting of pepper. It’s very ripe and full-flavoured, sweetly fruited, but fresh and lively too, almost a coolness to the acidity here, and a heap of grainy tannin, finish is long and floral, with a panforte richness and classic bitter almond aftertaste.
