2018 Travis Tausend Yumi (Magnum - 1.5L)
All fruit is sourced from 25 year old vines in Hope Forrest, the southern part of the Adelaide hills that borders McLaren Vale. Clay, Ironstone, schist and sand make up the composition of the soil and the vineyard is farmed organically. In 2018 Travis picked the fruit earlier, wanting to maintain a bit more freshness than the previous vintage. There were 3 seperate ferments, 30% directly pressed Pinot Noir, 50% de-stemmed berries macerated for 1 week and 20% whole bunches macerated also for just one week. After pressing, the components all spent time in very old barrels for 9 months. Think crushed raspberries, wild strawberries, bright acidity and great length. Perfect now that the weather is warming up. At only 10% alcohol its such a joyous glass of wine. Bright, crunchy & fresh.
