2018 Tenimenti Mancini Podere Della Fillandra Chianti
The wine history of the Mancini family begins at the end of the nineteenth century with their first winery in San Polo Tuscany.
In 1926 the family expanded with new holdings in Arezzo. Organic and sustainable farming underpins all operations of this family estate with certification being granted in 2002. Along with Sangiovese they farm small quantities of native varietals such as Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo,Trebbiano Toscano and Grechetto. The first wine from this estate to come into Australia is a Chianti that’s 100% Sangiovese, the way real Chianti should be. It’s grown in the Podere Della Filandra vineyards that sit at 550 to 600m ASL on medium textured clay and galestro soils, considered by many to be the premium choice for growing Sangiovese.
