2018 Slow Lane Kangarilla Shiraz

This was from Phil Turner’s 10 ha block on the South Eastern edge of Kangarilla. The block isn’t certified organic, but Phil only uses copper & sulphur when spraying & takes a light handed approach in the vineyard. The fruit was 100% destemmed, hand plunged & then pressed to a seasoned American barrique at around 2.5 baume. It took on a little bit of oak sweetness finishing ferment in barrel. It stayed in oak for 20 months, bottled without fining, filtering or any S02. A little reductive when first opened, but it’s nice to see it develop in the glass I think.
