2018 Made By Monks Sundew Pinot Noir
Notes from Luke Monks - he makes the wine...
Multi regional Tassie Pinot - Tamar White hills and Southern Tasmania Dover. 50% whole bunch, pressed at dryness, old French oak for 12 months. No adds, pinch of Sulfur at bottling. Tamar fruit came in pretty ripe, it was a late pick up, scored it last minute. Dover fruit is slow to ripen and came in late season, dark and savoury favours, from an organic dry grown site right down the bottom of the state. A giving table wine, good with BBQ! The name Sundew is in reference to the carnivores plant, native Sundew species can be found in the Tasmanian wilderness.
