For those new to Kindeli, the label is the playground of Alex Craighead and Josefina Ventrino. After years of travelling the world making conventional wines for more conventional folk, Craighead and Ventrino returned to New Zealand’s South Island to start their own labels: Don (Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris made with low intervention and minimal SO2 adds), and Kindeli (non-varietal wines made with zero SO2). For the second consecutive year, the 2018 vintage of Kindeli wines were made using predominantly organic estate fruit. All wines contain no added SO2. Pinot Noir and Syrah. Carbonic maceration, skin fermentation, some whole bunches. Aged in old oak, stainless and amphora. No fining, filtration or additives.
