2018 Furlani Alpino Macerato



Fresh juice from biodynamic sparkling powerhouse Cantina Furlani.
The soils are clay over schist and broken granite, planted in several small parcels surrounding the village of Povo, directly above Trento. Vines are trained in the traditional 'Pergola Trentina' allowing for ventilation, drying and maximum sun exposure. His estate focuses on making very impressive sparkling wines with a technique that takes influence from Method Ancestral and Method Champenoise. Wines undertake long slow wild ferments in cement tanks or glass demijohns before frozen must or juice is added to bottle in spring for refermentation. Through this process no sulphur is added and all wines remain un-manipulated. 30 Year old vines of Vernaccia, Lagarino Bianco, Nosiola, Verderbara, fermented on skins for 2 weeks.
